The consultation document presented work done to develop a major trauma network for South & West Wales & South Powys including the recommendations for a single major trauma centre supported by a number of trauma units across the region.
CSP’s response was developed in conjunction with ATOCP in Wales. The response supports the recommendation to develop a major trauma network in principle, & draws attention to the issues that will need addressing to ensure that the benefits outlined in the proposal are realised.
Following consultation, a report will be produced for consideration in public by Health Boards during March 2018. The report will include details of the response to the consultation & the final proposal for a major trauma network for South Wales.
