The charity Asthma + Lung UK has released its latest COPD report, Delayed diagnosis and unequal care, which outlines the findings of a survey of over 6,500 people with COPD in the UK.

The research provides key insights into the experience of people with COPD over the last year and reveals a worrying picture of delayed diagnosis, substandard care, and a disproportionate impact of inequalities on people with COPD.
Friendly Shoes – adaptive footwear
Friendly Shoes aims to offer increased choice and independence to adults and children in the disabled community, and aid therapy and functional goals with their adaptive footwear.
Available in three styles, the shoes are designed to be supportive, wide-fitting and lightweight, with removable memory foam insoles – enabling orthotics and ankle foot orthoses (AFOs) to be worn.
Created by an occupational therapist, the Friendly Shoes range also has a wide-opening zip, extending all the way down the side or back, to make them easy to put on and take off.

The HCPC has produced a three-minute video that explains the employers’ role and responsibilities when it comes to managing HCPC registrants – including registration, CPD and supporting employees’ health and wellbeing.
AHP case study resources
NHS Health Education England has published several new online case studies, which cover a range of topics related to the work of allied health professionals.
These include AHPs supporting wellbeing and recovery in mental health; AHPs transforming health, care and wellbeing for autistic people and people with a learning disability; AHPs’ contribution to staff health and wellbeing and AHPs making an impact in cardiovascular and respiratory disease.
