Associate members celebrated the 21st birthday of them joining the CSP at the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff on 12 November.
Associate members celebrate 21 years of CSP membership and the launch of a new diploma
The Welsh government deputy minister for health, Vaughan Gething, told guests, including more than 25 associate members from across Wales, of the valued work carried out by physiotherapy support staff.
He reminded the audience that support workers made up over 41 per cent of the workforce in NHS Wales and he said the Welsh government was committed to ensuring their professional development.
The evening was also the official launch of the diploma in physiotherapy support, which went live in October.

Many of the guests were external stakeholders who helped oversee the diploma’s development.
The diploma’s steering group included health board and patient group representatives.
It will standardise training, skills development and accredited qualifications for physio support staff.
The event was co-chaired by associate member Julie Hirst, a physiotherapy assistant at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
She said: ‘It was excellent to see so many associate members at the event from across Wales. Launching the diploma in physiotherapy support was a fantastic way to celebrate our 21st birthday.’
