Quadruple amputee Corrine Hutton has just scaled Mount Kilimanjaro for Finding Your Feet, the charity she founded in 2013 to support other amputees in overcoming social isolation.
Alison Bevaart, an MSc physiotherapy student at Robert Gordon University, and representative for the Aberdeenshire Finding Your Feet (FYF) branch said the mountaineering expedition was a good opportunity to raise awareness of the charity to physios who are often in contact with amputees.
'Social isolation is a big issue for those with limb loss and FYF aims to tackle this problem through sporting initiatives and social inclusion projects, such as rock climbing, gardening and AmpuTea events.’
Finding Your Feet is located in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Leeds and Aberdeenshire, running 50 clubs each month.
