Last chance to vote - CSP’s NHS Scotland pay ballot moves forward

Elsewhere our preparations in England and Wales, and consultation in Northern Ireland, continue apace.

Scotland

CSP members working in the NHS in Scotland have one final chance to participate in our pay ballot.

By law, this is a 100 per cent postal ballot, and voting papers must be sent through the post in time to arrive with Civica, the balloting company, by noon on Monday 31 October. CSP Council is recommending members employed in the NHS in Scotland vote yes to both questions.

Every vote counts, and it is now more important than ever to send a strong message to the Scottish government. The Scottish government has recently announced a revised offer to all NHS staff on Agenda for Change contracts in Scotland.

The CSP has expressed concern over this new offer. It remains significantly below inflation for many CSP members, particular for more experienced clinicians at the top of their band.  However, our member pay group will meet in the coming days to decide whether to consult members on the new offer.

In the meantimeit remains vital that you vote in the ballot on the basis of the original offer so that we have a clear mandate from CSP members on your views and the strength of feeling.

Northern Ireland

In Northern Ireland, members working in health and social care have likewise only got hours remaining to vote on pay – this time in our electronic consultative ballot.

This consultation is to gather views on both the lack of any award and also views if the Pay Review Body recommended award were to be implemented. The results will be reviewed by our elected leadership to determine next steps.

To allow as many members as possible to participate, we have extended the consultation to run till noon, Friday 28 October. Search your inbox for an invite with ‘consultative vote’ in the subject line to access the voting form.

England and Wales

In England and Wales, CSP workplace reps, members and staff are preparing for our historic national pay votes, running 7 November to 12 December. Members can now support our get out the vote campaign by:
