About the faculty

The Faculty of Health Sciences is a major contributor to the region's healthcare workforce and carries out world-leading research to tackle some of the biggest health challenges facing society.

Cutting edge new facilities, expert staff and close links with the NHS and other providers enable our students to develop the knowledge and skills to pursue a wide range of professions.

They include careers as doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics and other health workers, as well as social workers, psychologists, biomedical scientists and sports scientists. From September 2020, physiotherapists too.

The Faculty of Health Sciences is home to the Hull York Medical School; Department of Biomedical Sciences; Department of Psychology; Department of Sport, Health and Exercise Science; Department of Midwifery and Child Health; Department of Nursing; Department of Paramedical, Perioperative and Advanced Practice; and the Department of Psychological Health, Wellbeing and Social Work.
