This broad theme addressed many key issues members face including Covid-19, work conditions, staffing levels, funding, student placements, mental health, and equity, diversity and belonging.

Claire Sullivan, the CSP’s director of employment relations and union services, has been involved in ARC for more than 30 years.

She said: ‘It is exciting to be back together after an enforced two-year gap due to Covid. ARC is such a fantastic opportunity for members to meet a wide range of other members and CSP staff, as well as being able to listen, discuss and debate the important issues facing members today – from clinical practice to equity, diversity and belonging, health policy and the wider economy.

‘With the elected CSP council there too, it’s a great way of understanding and – possibly more importantly – influencing future CSP policy.’

Shape the profession

CSP organiser Iain Croker said: ‘Looking back through the motions from previous conferences it is fascinating to see that influence in action and how members really have used their knowledge and power to shape the profession.

‘That is something as an union organiser that I like to see; that members realise the power they have to effect change.’
