Take part in research exploring how exercise interventions are provided by support staff

CSP-commissioned researchers at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol have started gathering evidence for a project exploring the role of exercise professionals in the support workforce, and are calling on CSP members to take part in a survey.

The CSP project is one of a suite of three awarded by Health Education England, which are aimed at developing and scaling safe and effective support roles in NHS-commissioned allied health profession (AHP) services in England.

CSP professional adviser Claire Fordham said: ‘We are now in the first round of this project and our partner UWE Bristol, who are leading the field work, are currently surveying a range of AHP staff, leads and commissioners to understand how exercise interventions are provided by support staff, especially those with an exercise professional background.

‘The survey is open to all in the physiotherapy and wider workforce in NHS-commissioned AHP services in England whose work involves the provision of exercise interventions.

Please do take part and share your experiences – it takes about 10 minutes to complete.

The project is due for delivery in early 2021. The CSP will share the findings with members and present them to Council.
